Macbrout a subsidiary of Turbocam, based in New Hampshire USA, a leading manufacturer of turbine and aerospace parts for Major world players which use the latest 5- axis tooling CMC's envisaged to construct a massive factory complex in Goa- India. The brief was to design a plant which has all the characteristics of a Goan house and respects the setting where it is constructed, i.e. a small village on the outskirts of the Major Town of Margao. The second requirement was it had to be an energy saving building. The design developed with this attitude , keeping in view the manufacturing requirements which needed a strict climate control, the HVAC system for the first time in this part of the subcontinent was radiantly cooled i.e. by passing cold water through the floor, saving 60 % operating costs. The building was completed in a record time of 15 months and well within budget.
We had a good working relationship with RDA, where we could express our opinions, suggestions as well as our disappointments.
Even when we had differences of opinion, our points were thoughtfully considered.
